Rebels Continue Winning Streak

The Rebels continued their winning streak with a third win on Tuesday, January 10th, in a nail biter 27-26 victory against a rival Greenville 5th/6th grade boys team. The Rebels hosted the game at First Christian Church in Greenville. 

William Carson sunk the first basket of the game. The Rebels kept a strong lead for most of the first half. Clayton Harris hit an impressive three point shot to bring the score to 7-4. After a series of fast breaks for both teams, the Rebels ended the first half leading 11-8.

Point guards J'von Kenny and Matthew McCollum took turns controlling the ball in the second half. Kenny, a 4th grader, demonstrated great potential both offensively and defensively.

The game took a turn at 22-10 when the Greenville team gained momentum and put 8 successive points on the board. William Carson ended Greenville's streak when he took a foul on a made basket. Both teams fought hard to the 27-26 finish.
